• I've been a volunteer at for IEEE CISOSE 2025 in my first week at University of Arizona! 🆕

• It's time to say good bye to both Deakin University and Swinburne University of Technology after 4 lovely years of research and teaching! It's been such a pleasure! I will miss Deakin University a lot consider all the fond memories with friends and not to miss all graduate and undergraduate students at both the universities.  🆕

• I've been offered a PostDoctoral Reseach position at the University of Arizona! 🎉 🆕

• I will be teaching MIS 202 and MIS 770 at Deakin University and COS40007 at Swinburne University of Technology during Trimester 1, 2025.

2024

• I conducted a pre-conference workshop for the 9th International Conference on Information Technology Research, on the topic "Enhancing machine intelligence: The role of context-awareness in the IoT system" on the 5th of December 2024 over Zoom.  🆕

• I am now a reviewer for the 9th International Conference on Information Technology Research (ICITR: https://icitr.uom.lk). ICITR was the venue where I got my first publication accepted. 

• I've completed my PhD with the best possible outcome!!!! The mail read: "The degree be awarded without further examination, upon the submission of the final library version of your thesis".  

• My publications passed the 50 citations mark (in fact, they crossed 60 as well)!  

• I've started as a Sessional Research Academic (Professional) at Deakin University, Australia, continuing my work with the Distributed Contextual Intelligence System. I am the Chief Investigator of this project, also supervising a Master's researcher. 

• I am now a reviewer for the Springer Cluster Computing (https://link.springer.com/journal/10586) Journal (Q1) and Springer Journal of Super Computing (https://link.springer.com/journal/11227) Journal (Q2).  

• I've started as a sessional research fellow at the Factory of the Future and as a sessional academic (teaching) in Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. I'm also continuing as a sessional academic (teaching) at Deakin University. 

• I am happy to share that I have  submitted my PhD thesis on the 5th of July 2024, completing 3 years of research in the project.  

• I am now a reviewer for the IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering (TNSE: https://www.comsoc.org/publications/journals/ieee-tnse) Journal (Q1).  

• Our research article titled "Proactive Context Caching Based on Situation Prediction for Real-Time Mobile IoT Applications", first authored by myself has been accepted to be presented at 1st Cross Domain Fusion for Mobile Data Workshop at the 25th International Conference on Mobile Data Management (MDM 2024), to be held in Brussels, Belgium. • I'll be presenting at the Context and Activity Modeling and Recognition (CoMoReA) workshop of the PerCom '24 conference today (11th March 2024) at Biarritz, France. 

• I will continue to be a part of the IEEE Consumer Communication and Networking Conference (CCNC) as a Technical Program Committee Member for the IOT: FROM SENSORS TO VERTICAL APPLICATIONS section (https://ccnc2025.ieee-ccnc.org/committees/technical-program-committee). 

• Our journal paper article titled "Reinforcement Learning Based Approaches to Adaptive Context Caching in Distributed Context Management Systems", first authored by myself has been accepted to be published in the prestigious ACM Transactions on Internet of Things! • The seminar on "Adaptively Caching Context Information for Fast Concurrent Access in Internet of Things" was conducted with the attendance of 80 postgradaute students at UCLA on the 11th of January 2024 at the Boelter Hall (where the Internet was born) in Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

• I'll be conducting a seminar at UCLA on the 11th January 2024, on the topic "Adaptively Caching Context Information for Fast Concurrent Access in Internet of Things" in coordination with Prof. Peter Reiher.

2023 

• Our research article titled "Refresh Rate Based Caching and Prefetching Strategies for Internet of Things Middleware" - the work that I carried forward from Dr. Alexey Medvedev, has been accepted and published in the MDPI Sensors Journal. Accessible here: https://doi.org/10.3390/s23218779.  

• I'm happy to share I'll be working as a student volunteer for the 20th EAI Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing (MobiQuitous) 2023 conference in Melbourne, Australia. 

• Our paper titled "A Hybrid Approach to Monitor Context Parameters for Optimising Caching for Context-Aware IoT Applications", first authored by Ashish Manchanda and co-authored by myself has been accepted at the EAI MobiQuitous 2023 as a regular paper. • I am part of the IEEE Consumer Communication and Networking Conference (CCNC)  as a Technical Program Committee Member for the IOT: FROM SENSORS TO VERTICAL APPLICATIONS section (https://ccnc2024.ieee-ccnc.org/committees/technical-program-committee).

• I'm happy to share that the Men's Badminton Team representing Deakin University, that is managed and assistant coached by my self, won the Bronze medal at the UniSports UniNationals Sports Competition. UniNationals is the annual all Australian inter-university sports competition which was held in Gold Coast this year.

• I'm thrilled to announce that me and the team SafePath Innovators, representing Deakin University won the prestigeous SCATS Student Traffic Data Innovations Challenge 2023. This research competition was held at the AWS Center in Sydney on the 15-16th September. Our solution, a context-aware, highly scalable adaptive traffic signalling system won the top prize of "Best Innovation" in the competition.

• Our research paper titled "Towards World Wide Context Management: Architecting Distributed Contextual Intelligence Systems for Real-Time IoT Applications" (led by my self) has been accepted in to the IoT-SenCity 2023 Workshop, which will a be part of the 24th IEEE International Conference on Mobile Data Management. • I was a part of the 24th Conference on Practical Aspects of and Solutions for Software Engineering, Warsaw, Poland (part of the 18th Conference on Computer Science and Intelligence Systems (FedCSIS) sponsored by IEEE, ComSoc, and MDPI) as an ordinary PC member (https://fedcsis.org/sessions/s3e/kkio/committee). • Had the opportunity to go back to the university that I did my undergraduates University of Moratuwa and conduct an introductory session on "Context Aware Computing" - the area of research that I'm currently investigating in.

• Our paper "Adaptive Context Caching for Efficient Distributed Context Management Systems" (led by myself) was presented on the 28th of March at the 38th ACM/SIGAAP Symposium on Applied Computing under the Mobile Computing and Applications (Distributed Systems) track held at the Tallinn University, Estonia. • It was an absolute pleasure to have worked with and presented my research work in Adaptive Context Caching at the Institute of Parallel and Distributed Computing at University of Stuttgart, Germany. I'd like to acknowledge Prof (Dr.) Christian Becker for the invitation, and sparing time for several valuable discussions and support during my visit. Also, thank you, Dr. Pascal, Dr. Frank, and the entire DB team for the discussions and the interest shown in our work.
