My technical training spans the full pipeline from atomistic characterization to structural-scale testing. At the nanoscale, I work with nanoindentation, nanoscratch, profilometry, laser confocal microscopy, SEM, TEM, EDX, XRD, AFM, X-ray microtomography, BET analysis, and mass spectrometry. At the macroscale, I use dynamic mechanical analysis and thermomechanical testing to characterize fatigue, modulus, and viscoelastic behavior across a range of environmental conditions. I have also trained in cleanroom microfabrication, including photolithography, spin coating, PVD, CVD, etching, and patterning, and completed coursework in semiconductor manufacturing and packaging.
Before Minnesota State, I earned my Ph.D. (2025) and M.S. (2024) in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Iowa under Prof. Caterina Lamuta, with a dissertation on the design, manufacturing, and characterization of advanced ceramics. During my Ph.D., I managed laboratory safety for a research group of more than 20 researchers, an experience that shaped how I run my own lab today. I completed my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the Islamic University of Technology in 2017, where I led a 63-member student robotics team to the University Rover Challenge at the Mars Desert Research Station in Utah, along with national championships in 2016 and 2017 and a second-place finish among Asian teams at the European Rover Challenge in Poland.
