Shaila Haque_PhD

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry & Biotechnology at the University of Barishal, Bangladesh. I completed my PhD in Neuroscience at the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience (SITraN), University of Sheffield, UK.

My research interests focus on the genetics and genetic epidemiology of Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and Parkinson’s Disease. I am particularly interested in how gene expression profiling can be applied to investigate the pathogenic mechanisms of neurodegeneration and to identify diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers.

I am keen to collaborate with researchers and institutions to advance understanding in neurodegenerative diseases and contribute to innovations in neuroscience.

Thesis Students

Sumaita Anjum

I am a Biochemistry and Biotechnology graduate, currently pursuing my MS thesis with a growing focus on oncology research. My main research interest is in immunotherapy, particularly CAR T cell therapy for melanoma, where I aspire to contribute to innovative cancer treatments.

I have introductory knowledge in genetics, biochemistry, microbiology, biotechnology, and molecular biology, and I am steadily gaining practical experience in laboratory techniques and data analysis. I actively engage with scientific literature and forums to expand my understanding of cancer biology and immunotherapy.

I am currently seeking long-term research opportunities in the fields of immunotherapy and oncology, where I can continue to learn, collaborate, and contribute.

Rabiul Hasan

I am a passionate life science enthusiast with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree and currently pursuing my MS thesis, focused on advancing knowledge and skills in the field. I have a solid foundation in genetics, biochemistry, microbiology, biotechnology, and molecular biology, along with practical experience in laboratory techniques and data analysis.

I stay actively engaged with scientific literature and forums to remain at the forefront of emerging research. I am eager to collaborate, learn, and contribute to innovations in the life sciences.

I am a recent graduate with a BS and MS from the University of Barishal, where I developed a strong foundation in biochemistry, biotechnology, and molecular biology. Currently, I am serving as a lecturer at Trust University, Barishal, where I aim to inspire and guide students in their academic journeys.

My academic interests are deeply rooted in the fields of biochemistry and biotechnology. I am passionate about teaching and research and look forward to contributing to the academic community at Trust University.
