Student Research | PhD Projects | Postdoctoral Research | Scientific Collaboration
I welcome enquiries from motivated undergraduate and postgraduate students, early-career researchers, and scientists interested in collaborative research in space plasma physics and heliophysics.
My research uses observations from NASA and ESA spacecraft, including MMS, Parker Solar Probe, Solar Orbiter, Wind, and ACE, to investigate plasma turbulence, coherent magnetic structures, plasma waves, kinetic instabilities, heliospheric dynamics, and cosmic-ray modulation.
I am interested in discussing student research projects, joint scientific investigations, and potential collaborative publications.
Opportunities for Students
BSc and Undergraduate Research Projects
Students interested in developing research experience can contact me to discuss potential projects involving spacecraft data analysis, magnetic-field fluctuations, plasma waves, solar-wind structures, and space-weather events. Projects can be adjusted according to academic background, available time, and programming experience.
MSc Dissertation and Research Projects
Potential MSc research projects may involve analysing high-resolution spacecraft observations, investigating turbulent magnetic structures, studying electrostatic waves, or examining temperature anisotropy and plasma instabilities.
PhD Research
I welcome discussions with prospective PhD applicants whose interests align with my research. Potential topics include multiscale plasma turbulence, coherent magnetic structures, wave–particle interactions, kinetic instabilities, and energy conversion in collisionless plasmas.
PhD supervision arrangements, admission, and funding depend on the relevant institution and programme.
Postdoctoral and Scientific Collaboration
I am interested in collaborating with researchers working on observational, theoretical, and Simulation aspects of heliospheric and magnetospheric plasma physics.
Potential collaborations include joint spacecraft-data analysis, comparisons between observations and numerical simulations, scientific publications, and the development of research proposals.
Researchers interested in fellowship applications or externally funded projects are also welcome to contact me to discuss possible scientific collaboration.
Potential Research Topics
Plasma turbulence and energy transfer across fluid and kinetic scales.
Current sheets, magnetic holes, magnetic reconnection, and coherent plasma structures.
Electrostatic solitary waves, electron and ion holes, and wave–particle interactions.
Temperature anisotropy, kinetic instabilities, and particle heating.
Collisionless shocks and shock–turbulence interactions.
Solar-wind structures, heliospheric dynamics, and cosmic-ray modulation.
