Women in the global south often seek justice to their online harassment through unveiling the harassers and the screenshots of their sent harassment texts and visual contents before the relevant authorities. Building on the ‘shame-based model’ of gender justice, we designed ‘Unmochon’, a tool that captures authentic evidence and shares with victims’ intended group.
Inability to read and understand the information on medicine packaging is a problem for many people across the world, especially in the Global South. We designed an application, ‘Oshudh Poro’ by using this users would know which medicine are they taking, whether it is registered or unregistered and its details. Low-literate users would gain more autonomy in managing their personal medication. This application would lead wellbeing-HCI to more sustainable design solutions as the application is built on existing skills of users and integrates only the existing features available to the intended users.
Shada Bakso is a hardware device, designed by us, to explore the fears of using mobile phones among the rural women of Bangladesh. Our probe study with the rural women using Shada Bakso suggests that rural women's fear of technology further initiates technology non-use.
In this work, we have presented a detailed description of the general interests of mass Facebook users in Bangladesh and their thoughts and sensitivity to their private information. Then we have provided an extensive overview of some of the prominent Bangladeshi Facebook groups by presenting the findings on groups formation, maintenance, and troubleshooting within the group from the interviews. We have also explained how the formation of groups on a virtual space provides a sensibility of the virtual communities’ limits and sovereignty. Lessons from our study open up new scopes for HCI and ICTD in both design and theory fronts.
In this work, we have demonstrated coherent electron transport in ZGNR for elastic phonon dephasing and looked in depth into the actual wave function of ZGNR, which has a unique band structure. We have found that electron lost its coherent nature in a shorter channel length in momentum conserving dephasing process compared to momentum relaxing process. Phonon dephasing for various electron-phonon interaction strength and for various incident electron energy was also investigated in our research.
