Welcome

Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullah (May Peace and Blessings of Almighty Allah be upon you).

I completed PhD and ME from IISc Bangalore in 2017, and B. Tech in ECE from NIT Srinagar in 2008. My research interests are Information theory, Wireless communication, Physical Layer Security, Game Theoretic learning, Machine learning, Data Analytics, Smart city. Between January 2016 to August 2016, I worked as Project Research Associate in IISc Bangalore, hosted by Prof. Rajesh Sunderesan. For a short period, I worked in Redpine Signals as a Design Engineer (Wireless systems), from December 2016 to February 2016. There I worked on physical layer design of chipset for next generation IoT, and also on physical layer design of WLAN (11b, 11g, 11n) and BT. From march 2017 to December 2017 I was assistant professor (on contract) in NIT Srinagar. From January 2018 to March 2018, I was Assistant Professor (on contract) under TEQIP III (Project of NPUI) hosted in Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), J&K. From March 2018 to September 2018, I was full time assistant professor in the department of ECE in IUST Awantipora, J&K. Since October 2018, I have joined ECE department of NIT Srinagar as Assistant Professor (substantial).

  • Faraz, Numair, Abrar, Vivek and Awanish have joined the lab as BTech project associates. Welcome all.

  • A couple of PhD positions are available in our lab from august 2021. Stay tuned for more details about the admission procedure. Preferable areas of research are Machine Learning for Wireless Communication, Cyber-Physical Systems, Quantum Circuits for error correction.

  • First journal paper with PhD Scholar Shahnawaz "Mitigating malicious insider attackes in the Internet of Things using supervised machine learning techniques", accepted for publication in scalable computing: practice and experience Journal. (Scopus, WoS Indexed, E-SCI).

  • Our paper "Energy Efficient Power Allocation for Secure SWIPT in IoT-DAS using Fractional Optimization" has been accepted in International Conference on IoT and its Applications (ICIA-2020). This is joint work with PhD Scholar Aaqib Bulla.

  • Our recent paper "Supervised Machine Learning Approaches for Attack Detection in the IoT Network" has been accepted in International Conference on IoT and its Applications (ICIA-2020). This is joint work with PhD Scholar Mir Shahnawaz.

  • Our paper "Optimal Rotation Angle for Finite Constellation over AWGN Multiple Access Wiretap Channel " has been accepted in IET Communication. Some results of this paper were obtained jointly with BTech students of IUST.

  • Our paper "Activity Modeling of individuals in domestic households using fuzzy logic" has been accepted for publication in proceedings for Second Symposium on Machine Learning and Metaheuristics Algorithms, and Applications (SoMMA'20) . This is joint work with Sristi Dyuthi (UCSD).

  • My paper "Modelling energy consumption of domestic households via supervised and unsupervised learning: A Case Study", has been accepted for publication in proceedings for Second Symposium on Machine Learning and Metaheuristics Algorithms, and Applications (SoMMA'20) .
