"This is a photo of my mom, who doesn't like to show her face. Insecurities prevent her from showing off as a camera model for me, and she often goes out with full face coverings to block her features. Because of what others think of us, or things that people say about us, we can neglect ourselves, and push ourselves away from the crowd in which we need to stand by in order to be ourselves. Being with others and them telling us that we are important, and that we don't have to hide, are what help ourselves open up to being with more people. I thought this photo reflected on that well, with my mom looking in a further direction, with a blank expression, and with a written message that reads, "No matter who you are, you're needed."
