Dr. Stephan Zheng is the Founder and CEO of Asari AI, a startup focused on building AI for the future. Prior to Asari AI, he led an AI research team at Salesforce Research that developed the AI Economist, a framework to use deep reinforcement learning and GPU-accelerated multi-agent simulations for economic policy design to improve social welfare. Dr. Zheng received his PhD in Physics from the California Institute of Technology in 2018, advised by Dr. Yisong Yue.
Dr. Tucker Balch is a Professor in the Practice and Research of Finance in the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. Prior to joining Emory, he was a Managing Director in the AI Research group at JPMorgan Chase & Co., where he led a team of researchers focused on machine learning and cryptography, multi-agent system simulations, high-frequency electronic markets, and synthetic data for finance. Dr. Balch has previously held research and teaching positions at Carnegie Mellon University and Georgia Institute of Technology, where he taught courses on AI, robotics, and computational finance. He earned his PhD in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1998.
Dr. Michael P. Wellman is a Professor of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Michigan. He received a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1988. For the past 30 years, Dr. Wellman's research has focused on computational market mechanisms and game-theoretic reasoning methods, with applications in electronic commerce, finance, and cyber-security. He is a Fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence and the Association for Computing Machinery.
Dr. Andrea Coletta is an AI expert working with the Applied Research Team (ART) at the Bank of Italy. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Sapienza University of Rome in 2022. His current research focuses on multi-agent systems and the use of synthetic data for financial and economic simulations. Dr. Coletta is also a Contract Professor at LUISS Guido Carli University. Prior to joining the Bank of Italy, he was a researcher in the AI Research group at JPMorgan Chase & Co.
