The SFHS Theater Program puts your generous donations to use!

•  Equipment such as microphones.  Microphones will need to be completely replaced with the new FCC band width guidelines.  A mic pack is over $1,000 - mic cords and mic units are $200 each.  We have 12, so we need to rent additional mics for musicals.

• Props

• Costumes 

• Paying other directors, choreographers, assistant directors 

• Building materials such as lumber, nails, tools and paint – we don't have enough storage space so the entire set is constructed and torn down for every show.  Parents bring in their own tools for the construction of the set.

• Lights – Renting moving lights for shows.

• Scaffolding

• Scrim

• Renting busses for conferences 

• Spotlight Education fees

• One Act costs – costume designer, set designer, Assistant Director, transportation to competitions

• Conference fees, T-shirts, and meals for the long dress rehearsal nights, for kids in need 

• Future goals – to give scholarships to seniors, Field Trips, and bring in other professionals to work with our students.

The money we make for ticket sales at each performance all goes back to the Activities Dept to support other programs at the HS such as Debate Team.

The school pays for:

One Act - director, but not an assistants or designers

Fall and Spring performances – very low wages for a costumer, tech supervisor, set build supervisor.  When we have musicals – choreographer, pit director, and vocal director.

The school provides $5000 each year which pays for the rights for a musical and parts of the lumber costs.  They do not provide any funds for props and costumes.
