The San Francisco Sailing Whaleboat Association (SFSWA) is our non-profit 501(c)(3) partner and has been supporting Sea Scouts in the San Francisco Bay for over 70 years. Its goals include promoting and preserving the history of sailing whaleboats in SF, teaching youth sailing and seamanship skills, and supporting the SF Sea Scout Base.
Sea Scouting is 100% volunteer-run and donor supported. We are always accepting new volunteers and donations.
Our adult volunteers are required to take youth protection training and go through a criminal background check annually. Whether you are handy with woodworking, fundraising, program planning, sailing, or just want to give back a few hours a month as a chaperone, we welcome your contribution!
Exciting news! The St. Francis Yacht Club Sailing Foundation has donated $25,000 to help rebuild our sailing whaleboat, Corsair, and has issued a challenge: if we raise an additional $25,000 by December 31, 2025, they’ll match it with another $25,000. Every contribution helps us unlock these vital matching funds to maintain our fleet and expand educational programs for youth. Your tax-deductible gift supports sea scouting. Help us reach our goal, rebuild Corsair, and inspire the next generation. Your gift today has double the impact!
