Nebraska Democratic Party Statement on Racist Posts by Donald Trump Towards Barack and Michelle Obama
LINCOLN, NE - The Nebraska Democratic Party Chair and ASDC President Jane Kleeb and Executive Director Precious McKesson issued the following joint statement regarding a racist post by Donald Trump towards Barack and Michelle Obama:
“Donald Trump’s latest social media post is racist, dehumanizing, and disgraceful. Once again, he leaned into language that has long been used to demean and dehumanize Black Americans—this time targeting President Barack Obama and the First Lady.
This is not a mistake. It is a pattern. And when a President uses racist tropes, it causes real harm, fuels hatred, and gives permission to demean and dehumanize Black Americans across this country.
We condemn Donald Trump’s racism outright. We reject the division he stokes, and we reaffirm a core truth: diversity is not a weakness - it is the strength of our party and our nation. We will not be silent in the face of hate.” - NDP Chair Jane Kleeb
“The racism displayed by President Trump and his administration is deeply troubling and unacceptable. If this administration believes that disrespectful behavior will distract the American people from concerns about corruption within the White House, it is mistaken. The voices and power of the people will ultimately prevail. As former First Lady Michelle Obama once said, “When they go low, we go high.” - NDP Executive Director

From - DEMAND PROGRESS:
The No Kings movement just announced that there will be another No Kings Day on March 28 — and given the Trump administration's escalating brutality and authoritarianism, it needs to be the biggest and most powerful No Kings Day yet.
The Trump regime is doubling down on intimidation and force to silence dissent by arresting journalists, kidnapping children, assaulting protestors, and murdering people in cold blood.1,2,3
But we will not be silenced.
Demand Progress Action recruited people to attend nearly 1,300 events for the No Kings Day in October, and we're aiming to go even bigger this time
Last year, millions of Americans came together in protest to speak with one voice and tell Donald Trump that there are NO KINGS in America.
On June 14, more than five million people attended the first No Kings Day protests in small towns and big cities across all 50 states. Then on October 14, more than seven million people turned out for No Kings Day 2.4
Since then, people have continued to resist Trump's escalating authoritarianism by monitoring and recording the actions of ICE, aiding and standing with immigrants, and speaking out against the Trump regime's abuses wherever they occur.
The movement to defend democracy is gathering power every day, but Trump is also becoming more desperate and dangerous. That's why the stakes are so high as we approach No Kings Day 3.
With your help, we'll recruit Demand Progress Action members to attend thousands of events all over the country on March 28, including the flagship protest in Minneapolis.
Thanks for taking action,
Joey and the team at Demand Progress Action
