2. Information We Handle
2.1 Local Data (On-Device)
Settle is built on a privacy-first architecture. Most of your data is stored exclusively on your iPhone using secure iOS system storage (@AppStorage and SwiftData):
- Profile Info: Name and profile picture.
- Calculation History: Salary details, seniority, and contract types.
- PDF Reports: Generated and saved locally.
This data is not accessible by the developer.
2.2 Third-Party AI Processing (OpenAI)
To provide legal insights and document analysis, Settle utilizes a third-party AI service.
- Who receives the data: Your data is transmitted to OpenAI, L.L.C. via their secure API.
- What data is sent: Only the specific parameters required for the calculation that you manually enter in the app: salary amount, years of seniority, type of contract, country/region, job title,
termination reason, and optional situation notes.
- What is NOT sent: Personal identifiers such as your First Name, Last Name, and Profile Picture are NEVER shared with the AI service.
- How it is used: The data is used strictly for real-time processing to generate your legal analysis report. It is not used for any other purpose.
- User Permission: Settle requires your explicit consent via an in-app prompt before any data is transmitted to the AI service. You can choose not to use the AI features, in which case no data will be
shared.

3. Data Protection and Third Parties
We do not sell or rent your data. We only share data with the following essential providers:
- OpenAI: To power the AI analysis. We ensure that OpenAI provides a level of data protection equal to or greater than our own standards, in compliance with international privacy regulations
(GDPR/CCPA). OpenAI's API terms state that data sent via the API is not used to train their global models. For more information, see https://openai.com/privacy.
- Apple: For secure payment processing and app distribution.
- RevenueCat: To manage your subscription status. RevenueCat receives only anonymous device identifiers and subscription state — no financial details or personal information are shared.

4. Legal Basis for Processing
After granting explicit consent via the in-app prompt, Settle transmits the necessary technical data to OpenAI for the sole purpose of fulfilling your request for a legal analysis report. You may
withdraw this consent at any time by not initiating an AI calculation.

- Local Data: You have total control. Deleting the app or clearing history in settings permanently removes all data from your device.
- AI Data: Data sent to the OpenAI API for processing is transient and is not stored by Settle on any external servers.
