This piece started as a portrait of a dreaming woman, and transformed into a snake among stars. embodying pure vision, clear and glowing, confident movement, and intentional action. for me the process of this work was an awakening, coming back to myself as a painter, reconnecting to the universe and channeling the snake, which symbolizes rebirth and transformation. surrounded by 7 stars, which represent the 7 chakras, the sacred energy centers of our bodies. the stars also are guiding the snake and lighting her path forward providing her with hope and renewed energy. the starclimber is a reminder to follow your visions and dreams, and to trust that change will always come. this piece taught me that when we finally let go of unrealistic expectations and comparisons and start to truly allow are selves to exist and express freely, our most authentic visions start to manifest, lighting the path forward like stars in the sky, all we have to do is follow them. 

inspired by the song "Krishna" by Alice Coltrane, this painting was created in the duration of that song. 

a formless depiction of my soul, the dreamer, consciousness adrift in a void of the intangible and mysterious. my energy abstractly depicted at the center of the canvas, with 2 of my muses, spirits of beauty and inspiration, standing by my side like pillars of protection. abstract figures and rings of smoke, blue and white as if in the sky or floating with the sea. I've been working on this painting for over a year and will probably not finish it for a while longer, reflecting the fact that i am still creating and discovering myself as an individual and as an artist. there's also something beautiful about the in-between stages of any work of art, stages only the artist usually gets to experience. paintings left unfinished for long periods of time are like doors left open, channels of vision left to marinate and collect energy. i like to think of this painting like a crystal ball a portal to my soul charging me with universal energy and inspiration.
