Call to Order
Welcome!
Introductions
Principal's Report - Princeipal Stein
1. First Families and Educators Together (FET) meeting was Tues Sept 15th. It was a success and will be used to identify areas of strength and areas of growth for the school
2. Resilient School Plan - Principal Stein acknowledged the upcoming vote for the school board which will take place on September 22nd. After the final decision, the PTA will work with Principal Stein to set up coffee meetings to discuss the impacts to Superior Elementary school as a possible recieving school
Teacher's Reports - Represntatives from numerous grades were in attendace
1. Conversation around how PTA funds are used in the classroom and how we might be able to continue or increase support for the staff
  1. Price Increases are being felt in the classroom and it would be great to have more PTA funds to help offset
  2. Brainstorming additional prizes and rewards as part of the rock & roll reward incentives
Treasurer's Report - Christina Lauver
1. Added a Misc line item to fund additional needs that arise throughout the year
SAC Report - Megan Reported
1. First meeting was Sept 1, 2026 with Meetings take place every month. Topics were:
  1. Discussed the Resiliency Plan and how it might impact SES
  2. Updated Math program and new reading curriculum with concerns around no homework
  3. Looking for a district accountability rep
2. Next meeting is Tuesday 10/6 3:15
Fall Fling Report - Jen Reported
1. There has been a struggle with volunteers beacuse Monarch and Fairview has events and football games the same night
2. Discussed possible teacher race at the end of the event
Annual Fund Committee Report - Justen Reported
1. Justen will work with Principal Stein on a week for the Annual Fund push - goal for 60% participation
  1. Staff to create videos to share during the desiganted week
  2. Flyers will be created to distribute at drop off
  3. Looking at a week in Oct/Nov - earlier than the Feb drive last year to help bring more visibility earlier in the schol year
  4. PTA - check shed for donation thermometer
  5. Look at increasing ask - Are we inline with nearby schools?
2. Start discussions about Annual Fund at the end of 2026/2027 school year to prepare sooner for 2027/2028
Community Impact Committee Report - Laura and Megan Reported
1. Committee Meets Monthly alternating between morning and afternoon meetings
2. Cultural Displays and Assemblys discussed - Dios De Los Muertas, Winter Activity, Lunar New Year Activity
3. Recommended Multicultural event similar to neighboring elementary schools
  1. This would take place in the springtime as a Pot Luck with families brining in food from their cutures
  2. This would be a free event so asking the PTA for $1,500
  3. This was unanimously agreed as a strong event for the school community
Community/Spirit Nighs - General Discussion
1. We need a new head for this committee
2. Discussed coin wars idea which was discussed at the end of 2025/2026 school year. PTA to discuss with Principal Stein
Teacher Appreciation Report - Katie Reported
1. Looking to use budget to stock teacher's lounge and provide for more for teh teachers throughout the year instead of just once
Spring Silent Auction - Dania Reported
1. We will move the Silent Auction Committee report to earlier in the meeting next time
2. Dania is looking for anyone who might have vacation home to donate for the auction. Our previous family is no longer at SES and those were typically the big ticket items
PTA Budget Vote for 2026/27 school year

Board Member Vote
1. Paul Voorhes - was voted as President because PTA needs to have that role filled - Motioned by Justen and Seconded by Dania
2. Allyson Gordon - voted as Secretary - Motioned by Justen and Seconded by Dania
