2024 - to present - Departmental project. He is responsible for the internal research project on: "The impact of technological addictions on subjective and social well-being" supported by the Department of Culture, Education and Society - University of Calabria.
2025 - 2028: ERASMUS+ (KA220-YOU). The project "Sentinelles de l'Avenir : Ensemble pour Éradiquer la Traite des humains - FUTURE-ART" aims to combat human trafficking, with a focus on youth engagement and education. Key objectives include raising awareness about human trafficking, empowering young people through art and digital tools to recognize and combat this issue, fostering active citizenship, and advocating for stronger anti-trafficking policies. The project seeks to integrate innovative approaches, leveraging art as a powerful medium for education and advocacy, and utilizing technology for broader reach and impact (Project leader for the University of Calabria: Prof. Rocco Servidio).
2024 - 2027: ERASMUS+ (KA220-HED). The project "Fostering Digital Democracy and Citizenship in Higher Education - DIGIDEM" aims to enhance digital citizenship among higher education students across Europe by developing a comprehensive curriculum and online educational ecosystem. It seeks to equip participants with advanced digital skills, promote critical digital literacy, and foster responsible online engagement. By integrating innovative teaching methodologies and technological tools, the project will empower educators and students to navigate the digital landscape ethically and effectively (Project leader for the University of Calabria: Prof.ssa Anna Lisa Palermiti). Website of the project: www.digidem-eu
2023 - 2026: PRIN 2022 PNRR. The project "Weighting the ethnic prejudice: A new approach to an old problem" is a National research project funded in the framework of the European Union - Next generationEU. Some research has shown that people spontaneously activate approach tendencies toward positively connotated objects and avoidance tendencies when faced with negatively connoted ones (e.g., a beetle). The same approach-avoidance pattern of behaviour replicates in front of individuals belonging to positively or negatively connoted social groups. This research project aims to index the automatic reactions to this kind of stimulus, monitoring spontaneous body movement. The current project aims at indexing the automatic responses to this kind of stimuli, monitoring spontaneous body movement to validate a new implicit measure to explore prejudicial tendencies (Project leader for the University of Calabria: Prof. Rocco Servidio).
2021 - 2024: PREVEX (Training Platform on The Prevention of Emotional and Sexual Abuse among Youth) is a European research project funded in the framework of the ERASMUS+ initiatives (KA220-HED). The PREVEX project's objective is to develop a coherent training plan to create new skills in terms of sexist and sexual violence prevention among teenagers and to propose new multilingual means enabling universities to approach emotional and sexual education in Europe better. (Project leader for the University of Calabria: Prof.ssa Angela Costabile). For further information about this project, please visit: en.prevex-project.com/
2017 - 2020: PRACTICIES (Partnership against violent radicalization in the cities) is a European research project funded in the framework of the Horizon 2020. The general aim of the project is to understand the human roots of violent radicalization and characterize these processes starting with their origins and to build concrete tools and prevention practices. He worked, together with other researchers, on the WP5: "Policies to fight against radicalization" (Project leader for the University of Calabria: Prof. Angela Costabile). Project brochure
2011-2013: Mathematics Education and Technologies is a regional research project. The project's aim was to explore how digital artefacts such as software applications, become for teachers as well as for students conceptual and practical tools to enhance mathematics teaching and learning (scientific coordinator: Prof. Francesco Costabile, University of Calabria).
2006-2010: SCIENAR (Scientific Scenarios and Art) is a European research project. He worked on the design and implementation of virtual scientific scenarios for visualizing mathematical objects endowed with artistic and cultural meanings (scientific coordinator: Prof. Pietro Pantano, University of Calabria).
2006-2009: NetConnect (Connecting European Culture through New Technology) is a European research project. He worked, together with others researchers, on the usability and the Human-Computer Interaction problems connected with the design of user system interfaces. The objective of these activities was to design and evaluate the graphical user interfaces of a virtual environment dedicated for both mobile devices and websites applications (scientific coordinator: Prof. Pier Augusto Bertacchini, University of Calabria).
2005-2009: CoMSON (Coupled Multiscale Simulation and Optimization in Nanoelectronics) is a European research project. He worked, together with others researchers, in the work-package 5 (eLearning) that included:
Development of eLearning system and Virtual Working Place.
Design and implementation of educational contents.
Evaluation of the students' didactical strategies.
In this project he had worked, also, to evaluate the system usability of the eLearning platform (scientific coordinator: Prof. Michael Günther, Bergische Universität Wuppertal).
2004-2006: PRIN-MIUR (Progetti di Ricerca di Interesse Nazionale - Research Projects of National Interest). He worked in the Italian research project PRIN-MIUR 2004-2006 (prot. 2004111320), titled: Mathematical modeling of the Natural and Artificial Behavior, coordinated by the Prof. Eleonora Bilotta. The scientific activities of the Research Unit of Cosenza, concerned the modeling of cognitive processes by using the dynamical system approaches (scientific coordinator: Prof. Eleonora Bilotta, University of Calabria).
2001-2004: Educational Robotics (International educational project). He also belonged to the Calabria Research Unit, coordinated by the Prof. Eleonora Bilotta, of the inter-university international educational project financed by MIUR (E. F. 2001 - cap. 1276, prot. COOP01F04F, years 2001-2004): Robotics as educational tool.
