Kicking off our first Community Outreach Project, I am asking you to reach out to those who have been affected from Covid-19.
We are going to send letters of encouragement to the Covid-19 Overflow Facility at the Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis, Wisconsin.
You can either write letters of encouragement to the staff who are working tirelessly to ensure each patient receives the best care possible, or you can write encouragement to patients. Each letter will be anonymous, but you can certainly explain a few things about yourself:
Your age, city, and list some reasons why you feel inspired to reach out to them.
The content of your letters will be dependent on who you want to write to. If it is the hospital staff, perhaps focusing on encouragement and reasons to keep working hard (while also taking care of themselves) would be most appropriate.
If you're choosing to write to patients, you can write encouragement and perhaps a few "dad jokes" or small activities for people to stay occupied with. I'm leaving this wide open because I'm curious to see what you all come up with!
Once you're finished, send everything you have to me. I will compile it all together, separate the patient/healthcare letters, and send them this weekend. "A tiny stone thrown in a pond can create tremendous ripples."
