Description of the activity
Participants learned how to start up a sustainable business and make a business plan and organize their entrepreneurship ideas, enhancing their business skills using the principles of circular economy.
This activity included various methods of work:
presentation of the Swedish school and the school system
All countries presented videos about what was the outcome of this project so far and activities that took place in each country. Evaluation of the activities carried out so far.
Learning/teaching/training activities-workshops:
Greece: Seminar and workshop: “How to start up a sustainable business
Portugal: Presentation of all kinds of sustainable companies. Emphasizing what to adapt and what to avoid. Important to get financing from ONU by obeying their principles.
Portugal: Presentation and workshop: “How to make our sustainable company”. Presentation of the company, RE-light, as an outcome of this project. How it works and how to promote it. Workshop to enhance the promotional skills of the participants.
Cyprus: Presentation of a marketplace that they made on Fb, to sell creations and get money for poor students.
Germany: Lecture and workshop about “How to make a Business Plan”.
Sweden: Presentation about Sami, to understand Swedish culture since they are known for their sustainable lifestyle fully based on nature. Good examples that we should learn from.
Greece: team gave a theatrical/music act: “Let’s Start up a Sustainable Company”.
Discussions, debates, and evaluations of the videos and presentations were followed.
Visits and lectures:
town hall, cultural center, library, and museum of Sundsvall learn about their environmental issues, how they deal with them, and the city culture.
MittSverige Vatten, Wastewater treatment plan. Learn how it is planned to be a sustainable and profitable business. Lecture about all scientific methods they use.
SCA Logistics is a huge company in the world of pulp and wood products, that strives to work towards increased sustainability, quality, and for the environment. Watch the procedure and lecture about the principles of a successful company that complies with all EU regulations.
Blåbergstippens Recycling Park and lecture about how it works and why is efficient.
Activities:
Ice-breaking activity, with painting and expressing emotions, and participants get closer.
Visit to Hassela ski resort, for Ski lessons to learn the local culture.
Brainstorming how to start up our Sustainable business.
Make a video about the project in general.
Evaluation of the program from teachers and students
The above activities were integrated into classes like Chemistry, Technology, Art, Theater, Music, Economy, Math, and English Classes.
The result of this activity is an action protocol as well as a booklet with guidelines and material to work on starting up a sustainable business.
The activity was previously included in the annual school programming of every school.
How did the participation in this activity benefit the involved participants?
This activity promoted the creativity, entrepreneurial, and innovation skills of the participants. Participants exchanged ideas and try to make a new sustainable company. This increased the levels of achievement and interest in technology, chemistry, economics, math, economics, and art.
The participants developed the following competencies:
communication and language competencies - the workshops, presentations, discussions, debates, and other events at the meetings in mixed international groups so that the participants of the project meetings could develop their language skills, improve their pronunciation, extend their vocabulary, and practice their communication skills.
creative - the participants of the project improved their creative competencies, through workshops, brainstorming, role-plays, and other activities. During the project, they were making out a new company, need imagination, try to be unique.
digital - the participants prepared their presentations, created outputs, and communicate with their peers from the partner schools using ICT tools. (Presentations, communication among the students, the webpage of the project, Facebook group, e-Twinning, etc.)
increasing cultural and social awareness -students from different cultures and social environments will compare similarities and differences between the partner countries. Have new experiences.

analytical - the participants will develop their analytical skills when they analyze environmental problems and try to set up a sustainable company
