Hey there!

My name is Sergei, I am a graduate student in the Department of Geology and Geophysics at the University of Wyoming. I currently work with Dr. Andrew Parsekian on research related to permafrost degradation in Alaska.  Specifically, my work focuses on saline permafrost and the surface processes that occur on frozen soils. This project aims to address the existing knowledge gap in how salinity influences permafrost and contributes to its degradation.

In my work, I apply a range of geophysical techniques including Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT), Time-Domain Electromagnetics (TDEM) and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) as well as GIS, remote sensing and spatial modelling methods.
