Originally I am from a small town in the Russian Arctic and I guess that's where my passion for the northern environments and permafrost comes from. In 2018 I moved to Moscow to get my undergraduate degree in Geography at Moscow State University. During my BS program, I did research on permafrost surface processes, but besides that, I studied many diverse things from glaciology and geomorphology to human and economic geography, and went on a lot of field trips. Now I live in Laramie, WY where I pursue my MS in Geology.

In my spare time, I try to travel or spend time being outdoors. During my free time in the undergraduate program, I traveled around the world and visited many different countries mostly hitchhiking them. Now that I have outgrown it, I prefer road tripping and I am totally excited to do it here in the US. I also enjoy hiking and camping and recently started getting into bouldering.
