Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using the Serenity Android application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of the Terms, please do not use the App.

1. Use of the App

Serenity is provided for your personal use as a private journal. You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not violate any applicable laws or regulations.

2. Data Ownership

Your journal entries and backup data belong to you. The App does not upload your entries to our servers. If you choose to enable backup, your data is stored in your own Google Drive account.

3. Purchases and Subscriptions

Serenity offers optional paid features through Google Play. Available purchase options may include:

• Monthly subscription

• Yearly subscription

• One-time lifetime purchase

Subscriptions provide access to the applicable paid features for the duration of the active subscription period. Subscriptions may automatically renew unless canceled before the end of the current subscription period.

The lifetime purchase is a one-time payment and does not require recurring payments.

All purchases and subscriptions are processed by Google Play. Prices, billing periods, renewal terms, and other purchase information are displayed through Google Play before you complete a purchase.

You can manage or cancel your subscriptions through your Google Play account. Canceling a subscription does not normally provide a refund for the current billing period, and access to paid features may continue until the end of the period already paid for. Refunds are handled according to Google Play's applicable policies.

We may change, add, or remove paid features and may change the prices of future purchases or subscriptions. Any applicable changes will be presented before you make a new purchase or renewal, as required by applicable law and Google Play policies.

4. Intellectual Property

The Serenity app, its name, logo, design, and code are the intellectual property of the developer. You may not reproduce, modify, or distribute any part of the App without explicit permission.

5. Limitation of Liability

The App is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for any data loss, device issues, or other damages that may result from the use of the App, including backup errors, purchase-related issues, or failures of third-party services.

6. Third-party Services

The App may use third-party services such as Google Drive for backups, Google Play for purchases and subscriptions, and analytics or crash reporting services for improving the App.

Your use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms and conditions and privacy policies.

7. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App or otherwise made available to you. Continued use of the App after the changes take effect will constitute your acceptance of the updated Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App where reasonably necessary, including in cases of misuse or violation of these Terms.

Termination of access to the App does not automatically cancel any subscription. Subscriptions must be canceled through Google Play.
