A nonbreaking space, non-breaking space, no-break space or hard space (Pol. twarda spacja) is the same width as a word space, but it prevents the text from flowing to a new line or page.
To create w nonbreaking space in Microsoft Word:
position the cursor between the two words or characters you want to keep together (there should be no space between these characters)
press: Control + Shift + Spacebar.
You can use nonbreaking spaces between any words or characters that you want to stay together. Use them after abbreviated reference marks, between the dots in certain ellipses, in more than four-digit numbers in Polish, and in editing Polish texts in which leaving a single letter hanging at the end of a line is a typographical error.
