Our mission is to develop a community of individuals and families who value and promote critical thinking, free-thought, reason and a scientific worldview. We oppose the blind acceptance of faith and dogma.

We recognize the importance of and promote working in coalition with like-minded people. This Community operates in an open, transparent, without discrimination as to gender, race, age, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, nationality, disability, or political affiliation.

In addition to unifying like minded freethinkers, we seek to provide a safe haven for secular and freethinking South East Missourians.

The percentage of Americans without religious affiliation, often labeled as "Nones", is around 20-29% – with people who identify as "nothing in particular" accounting for the growing majority of this demographic, and both atheists and agnostics accounting for the relatively unchanged minority of this demographic.
