Kings fall, but the people rise. I am a Democrat - this I swear.
I serve no king, bow to no emperor, slave to no lord. I shall gain my power from the people, and I shall return this power to the people. For all blood is equal in the eyes of Democracy. For all is welcome in the struggle for liberty. And all acts of defiance shall be our guide to victory.
I will not kill for self-indulgence, I will not kneel to any noble, I will not steal the dignity of the people.
No matter the color, my blood is red. No matter the form, my bones are white. And should I burn, my body is black.
I am a Democrat. I serve these tenets true. My blood lies with the people. I am their shield. I am their torch. I am their sword. I am their scale. For if I shall fall, the people rise. This I swear.
