Over the years, Don has supported many people living with cancer using his specialty, Korean Hand Therapy (KHT), alongside other complementary approaches such as BioPhoton therapy and heat therapy.
To further support those in need, he developed the Self Cancer Care Program—a unique program designed to help individuals take an active role in managing their condition and improving their quality of life.
Below is a brief overview of the program and the principles behind it.
Don recognised that many people with cancer have limited access to natural, supportive care options. As a result, many continue to struggle with maintaining their quality of life.
This program was created to provide additional support, education, and practical tools for those seeking a complementary approach.
Don received specialised training at the Korean Hand Therapy Wellness Center, where Korean Hand Therapy was mainly used to care for various conditions, including cancer.
Since then, he has helped many cancer patients using KHT and has also incorporated BioPhoton therapy—an approach used in some cancer clinics internationally.
By combining these methods with other supportive techniques, he developed this program to offer a structured and practical approach to self-care.
In traditional Eastern perspectives, three important factors are often emphasised in improving cancer:
Oxygen
Diet
Mind
Improving these areas may support the body’s overall balance and resilience, and in turn help improve cancer.
Within the program, Don—together with Hera, a dietary advisor—guides participants using practical strategies based on decades of experience.
The focus is on helping individuals make manageable, sustainable changes that support their overall wellbeing.
⚠️ Note: This program is designed as a complementary approach to support cancer.
This program offers Don's self cancer training. After completing the program, you will be guided to manage your condition with a personalised self-management plan.
This program combines Don's self cancer care training with Hera's dietary program. After completing the program, you will be guided to manage your condition with a personalised self-management plan, along with tailored dietary advice.
The followings are the special features of this unique program:
Using traditional Oriental medicine assessment methods, Don identifies key patterns and underlying imbalances associated with each individual’s condition. This allows him to create a detailed and personalised Self Cancer Management Plan tailored to each person.
He also assesses additional contributing factors, explains how they may affect the body, and provides practical guidance on how to manage them effectively.
According to a brain map, over 80% of the brain is directly related to the hands, which represent the whole body.
So stimulating acupuncture points in the hands is not only easy and simple but has a very powerful effect on our body.
That’s why many difficult conditions were improved with “The KHT cancer clinic” in Korea.
BioPhoton Therapy is a complementary approach that uses specific wavelengths of light to repair or rejuvenate the body’s cells.
In traditional Oriental medicine, heat therapy is often regarded as an important supportive approach for cancer, as it may help improve circulation and support the body’s natural balance.
Don teaches a variety of practical and easy-to-apply heat therapy methods as part of his program:
1. Korean Hand moxa
2. BioPhoton Therapy
3. Namsu Moxa – Korean traditional moxa 1
4. Seat Moxa – Korean traditional moxa 2
5. Ramekin Moxa – Don’s invention
"We had the privilege of learning from Don Kim, and we must say his expertise in hand therapy stands out remarkably. Unlike any other teacher we've encountered, Don possesses a unique depth of knowledge that truly transforms the way we understand hand therapy.
His teachings have opened our eyes to the immense potential and power of this practice. What sets Don apart even further is his profound knowledge in treating cancer through hand therapy. The cancer care program he has taught us is both innovative and practical.
We are inspired by his approach and hope to use this knowledge to help more patients in Malaysia incorporate this effective and holistic program into their care journey.
Additionally, we want to express our gratitude to Hera, Don’s lovely wife, who complements him perfectly. Hera is not only warm and welcoming but also an exceptional cook.
Her dedication to preparing healthy, nutritious meals has left a lasting impression on us, further emphasising her shared commitment to health and wellness. Together, Don and Hera create a truly inspiring and holistic learning experience."
