Gold Award

What is the Gold Award Exactly?

To start off, the Gold Award is the highest level of achievement in Girl Scouts. This award can be earned by Girl Scout Seniors or Ambassadors in high school (9th-12th grade). With this award, you can change your community and with it, the world!

What are the Benefits?

Not to mention, there's many benefits with attaining your Gold Award. As less than 6% of Girl Scouts get the Gold Award, getting this award can:

  • Distinguish you from your peers in the college admissions process.

  • Can help you stand out in the scholarships you apply for and in the future, in the job process as well.

  • Help you be more confident in communicating with people!

  • Help you learn how to manage your time (especially with juggling school and other extracurricular activities.)

The Process

So, in order to start getting your Gold Award, there's a step-by-step process:

  • Identifying an issue in your community.

  • Investigating about this issue very, very closely (with research.)

  • Get help and build your team (by communicating/reaching out to people (adults, mentors, etc) you think that may be able to help you with this issue.)

  • Create a plan.

  • Present your plan your Girl Scout Council

  • Take action (Implement your plan!)

  • Educate and inspire!!!! (Share your project with the world!)

Final Thoughts

All in all, it's a cumbersome, tedious process, but in the end, it's worth it and I would do it all over again if I had too!!
