The Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG-UIS) Student Chapter at Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS), Bucaramanga, Colombia, is an active academic community founded around 2010. It brings together Geology students from the School of Geology at UIS, fostering their professional and scientific development in geophysics.
The chapter promotes a wide range of activities, including lectures, workshops, and networking events, strengthening the connection between academia, industry, and local stakeholders to advance geophysics in the region.
In addition, the chapter established its own Young Research Group in Geophysics, known as the Research Seedbed in Applied and Computational Geophysics (SIGAC), aimed at encouraging research, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
