Hannah Wilson is a painter based in Durango, Colorado, working out of the Art Room Collective in the Smiley Building (see more of her work next door). Her work explores the landscapes of the Southwest, from high alpine peaks to desert valleys - capturing the ever-changing relationship between land and water. When not painting landscapes, she creates live watercolor portraits at weddings and events throughout the region and has painted a handful of public outdoor murals throughout Durango.
Snowmelt celebrates water in all its forms as it moves through the landscapes of the Four Corners region. Each painting in this collection features water—whether as snow-capped peaks, rushing rivers, desert rain, or alpine lakes and streams. The exhibition includes new works created specifically for this show alongside other original works offering a cohesive exploration of how water shapes and defines our high desert and mountain environment.
