We recommend booking flights to Australia as early as possible due to increasing cost nearer the travel date. The dates fall during QLD school holidays so we also recommend booking accommodation at the same time.
Please use your registration payment receipt as supporting documentation. You do not need a separate letter.
If you are applying for any visa including ETA, please email Lauren (lauren.waszek 'at' jcu.edu.au) after completing registration payment. Use subject "SEDI 2026 visa details", and include the following information as it appears on your passport:
first + middle name
last name
date of birth (DD/MM/YYYY)
gender
passport number
country of passport
country of residence
contact details (email or phone)
If you need a letter from SEDI for internal travel requirements, please request this in your email and include your institution name and session to which you submitted.
PhD student or researcher based internationally within two years of PhD award date
