The digital world is increasingly getting dangerous, especially for individuals that are not cyber-conscious. By no fault of their own, such users are left to navigate these threats on their own. SecureXP wants to change the norm by strengthening defenses in our communities and the world.
Not often do we see successful platforms primarily focused on protecting intermediate school students. The programs that do are not user friendly or attractive to teenagers, as our interviewees have shared with us. Unlike other passive e-learning modules that don't help students retain crucial information, SecureXP creates a personalized "digital guardian" and actively does the work to monitor and detect threats for the user.
The product will be integrated into the devices of kids and will constantly monitor their device usage and practices. It will flag potentially dangerous habits early on and tell them what to change. It will ensure that kids are not exposed to obscene content on the internet and will teach them about internet safety and best practices. Our product is adjustable to different age groups as well, as learning styles change when growing from an elementary student to a middle school student.
It will also occasionally send them "scam" messages, which can be used to see how the kids react and respond. Based on this collected data, we can observe the level of understanding of internet safety in kids. Those results can assist us in personalizing content for the students based on their progress, rather than bombarding them with information. The periodic testing of the kids knowledge of how to access the internet will reinforce positive and correct ways being online, leading to better outcomes.
SecureXP aims to be a trusted and friendly teacher, not just a strict monitor of online behavior. We are unique because we don't just flag and block suspicious action such as visiting risky websites or using weak passwords. SecureXP takes it a necessary step further by incorporating real-time feedback that is designed to build good cybersecurity intuition in users. One of our most interesting features is that SecureXP doesn't wait for bad news - we test student's in a gamified fashion to observe their response and adapt our teachings based on those responses. SecureXP recognizes that all students have different learning styles, which we accommodate to.
Too often, competitors implement lessons that are not dynamic or engaging, and often motivated by profit or brand recognition. SecureXP approaches all of their work with empathy, as we realize kids need entrepreneurs and technical experts like us to protect them.
