SEA TEACHER BATCH 11

I am Edgar J. Domingo Jr., a Batch 11 participant of the SEA Teacher Program, proudly representing the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics from the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology. When I joined this program, I carried with me not just the desire to teach, but the hope of discovering who I could become—both as an educator and as an individual.

My journey to Indonesia became a chapter I never knew I needed. It taught me the beauty of stepping outside my comfort zone, embracing new cultures, and learning through experiences that no classroom could ever fully provide. From navigating my first-ever plane trip to observing diverse teaching styles, from facing new challenges to celebrating personal milestones in a foreign land—I grew in ways I had never imagined.

Teaching in Indonesia wasn’t just about delivering lessons; it was about building relationships, understanding differences, finding common ground, and learning from every student, mentor, and friend I met along the way. It opened my eyes to the value of patience, adaptability, creativity, and empathy—qualities that I now carry with pride as I continue building my identity as a future educator.

I visited cultural landmarks, tasted flavors I had never tried before, laughed at unexpected moments, and collected memories that still make my heart full. Each experience reminded me that learning happens everywhere—in laughter, in struggles, in curiosity, and in the quiet moments of reflection.

This journey strengthened my passion for teaching. It reaffirmed my purpose. And it gifted me stories I will carry throughout my entire career.

I am grateful—for the opportunity, the people I met, the lessons I gained, and the version of myself that Indonesia helped shape. The SEA Teacher Program was not just a requirement; it was a turning point in my life, one that will forever inspire the kind of teacher I strive to become.
