There was a time when studying abroad felt like nothing more than a quiet prayer I kept to myself.

Since my very first day of being accepted into university, I had always prayed for the chance to experience studying abroad without knowing when, where, or how it would happen. I simply believed that one day, in Allah’s perfect timing, it would.

And somehow, SEA Teacher became the answer.

What began as a dream turned into a journey that brought me to NU Nazareth School and National University Manila, where I was given the opportunity to teach, learn, and grow in ways I never expected. This experience taught me so much not only about education, but also about culture, friendship, adaptation, and myself.

Before coming to the Philippines, I was excited, but also anxious. I wondered if I would be able to adapt, communicate well, and carry the responsibility of representing my university and country. There were many unknowns ahead of me. But what made this journey truly unforgettable was the people I met. Their kindness, warmth, joy, and welcoming hearts made me feel at home from the very beginning. Even when language felt unfamiliar, connection never became difficult. I learned that sincerity can always bridge differences.

Throughout the program, I learned how teaching goes beyond content delivery. No matter the country, language, or system, the love for teaching remains the same. It is always about touching lives, building understanding, and creating spaces for growth. I also discovered more about myself. I learned that I can adapt faster than I thought, communicate better under pressure, and find confidence in unfamiliar places. I learned how to trust myself more. 

This journey changed me.It made me more open to differences, more curious about global education, and more certain about the kind of educator I want to become someone who teaches with empathy, creativity, and purpose.
