This is the lesson plan that Ms. Aileen, my co-practice teacher, and I prepared for our formative demonstration teaching at SMP Brawijaya Smart School. We followed their official lesson plan format, as guided by Doc Frida, who explained in detail how lesson plans are structured in their system.
Interestingly, their format is quite similar to what we use in the Philippines, with only a few differences. Like ours, it includes sections for the subject, class/semester, learning model, time allocation, and materials. However, they also have a Definition of the Topic and Opening Questions section, which in our format is usually embedded within the lesson procedure. Another difference is that they separate Learning Objectives and Learning Outcomes, while in our format these are usually combined.
For the procedural part, they use Pre-Teaching, Main Teaching, and Closing Activity, followed by Assessment, similar to our Before, During, and After the Lesson, just with different terminology. Overall, learning their way of creating lesson plans was an insightful experience, allowing me to see both the similarities and the unique elements of their approach.
This semi-detailed lesson plan was the one I used for my final demonstration teaching. While Ms. Aileen and I worked on the plan together, I made a few modifications to suit the specific activities I facilitated during my turn, as we each conducted our final demo teaching individually.
This format follows the style we use in the Philippines, as suggested by Ma’am Yusi, our cooperating teacher. She wanted to see how we create lesson plans in our own system, and in turn, it gave her insight into our approach. After reviewing it, she agreed that it is quite similar to their format, differing only slightly in terminology but essentially aligned in structure and flow.
This is the instructional material, a Canva presentation, that I used to facilitate my lesson on Describing a Person. The session was conducted through team teaching with Ms. Aileen Daco.
