Is 2026 CSPDWeek registration open for California private school educators?
No. Because funding for CSPDWeek is supported through the California Department of Education’s 2023 Educator Workforce Investment Grant in Computer Science (EWIG: CS), eligibility is limited to California public K–12 teachers and paraprofessionals. As a result, private and independent school educators, expanded learning educators, pre‑service teachers, and substitute teachers are not eligible to register for CSPDWeek or receive a stipend. These eligibility requirements align with Assembly Bill 185, which prioritizes professional learning for educators in public schools.
Can non-California educators participate in the CSPDWeek workshop?
No. Participation is limited to California educators due to the terms of the 2023 Educator Workforce Investment Grant (EWIG) in Computer Science, which supports professional learning for California teachers and paraprofessionals.
📌 Note: Educators from outside California are encouraged to seek alternative professional development opportunities to further computer science in their local communities.
As an educator, do I need to notify my supervisor before I attend a CSPDWeek workshop?
Yes. Educators should notify their supervisors before registering for CSPDWeek. Involving your supervisor can help establish district-wide support systems, ensuring both educators and students have the resources needed to succeed in computer science. See the Participation Agreement for details.
📌 Why this matters:
Discussing your professional development goals with your supervisor can lead to a more productive and fulfilling work experience.
It shows your dedication to your students and profession, demonstrating that you take your role seriously.

📌 Important: Workshop participants must have a completed Participation Agreement to be eligible for stipend payments and travel reimbursement.

📌 Questions? Please email seasonsofcs@scoe.net for additional guidance.
Can I bring my child to the CSPDWeek Workshop? What is the policy regarding children in the workplace?Â
CSPDWeek workshops are designed specifically for adult learners. While families are welcome to visit Long Beach, we ask that children not attend workshop sessions or be in the conference areas during workshop hours.
📌 Important: Please make alternative arrangements for children's supervision during workshop hours.
What is the cost for the CSPDWeek workshops?
CSPDWeek workshops are free for eligible participants.
📌 Stipend: California K–12 public school teachers and paraprofessionals employed by a public school LEA (school, district, or county office of education) are offered a daily stipend as an incentive for full and active participation in the CSPDWeek workshops.
Who is eligible to receive a stipend for CSPDWeek?
Stipends are funded through the California Department of Education’s 2023 Educator Workforce Investment Grant in Computer Science (EWIG: CS) and are subject to specific eligibility requirements.Â
In general, participants must be California public K–12 teachers or paraprofessionals who actively support classroom instruction, fully participate in the workshop, and commit to implementing the curriculum during the 2026–27 school year.Â
Please note that certain roles (e.g., private school educators, substitute teachers, and pre-service teachers) are not eligible.Â
For full eligibility requirements and details, visit the Stipend Information page.
