This project was completed in the spring of 2025 for my engineering design class. The goal of the project was to create a mechanism that was driven by a motor and stamped a piece of aluminum foil. My partner and I decided on a crank and slider mechanism to drive the dies and created a custom gear train to slow down the motor enough to stamp once per second. The motor mount, gear structure, and couplers were 3D-printed, while the gears themselves were made from laser-cut plywood.
