Congratulations to Carrie Pan for achieving GOLD MEDAL in BALLROOM with flying colours.

Carrie received 98% in VIENNESE WALTZ, 97% in TANGO, 95% in WALTZ, 95% in QUICKSTEP and 91% in FOXTROT.

Examiner Leeanne Bampton wrote 

WALTZ: Very neat and elegant. Clear timing.

TANGO: Excellent dance. Clear strong action. Danced flat and in character.

VIENNESE WALTZ: Very good timing. Confident. Good footwork.

FOXTROT: Good Timing.

QUICKSTEP: 

General Comments: Highly Commended. Distinction in Viennese Waltz. Excellent dancing.

Congratulations to Elaine Yuan for an incredible performance at the 2026 DME National DanceSport Championships at Sydney Town Hall.

Elaine participated in 7 competition events in BALLROOM and NEW VOGUE and won 7 MEDALS including 3 GOLD MEDALS.

It is an exhausting competition not for the faint-hearted which ran from 8am to 9:30pm and attracted hundreds of competitors and thousands of spectators.

Well done, Elaine. Maroubra Seals Dance Club is very proud of your achievement. We thank Elaine for bringing such a great honour to our dance club. Also a big thanks to Chris Teh, Elaine's dance partner, and to Carrie Pan for tirelessly supporting Elaine before and during the competition.

Carrie Pan has become a DanceSport Australia Champion after winning the GOLD MEDAL in the 2025 East Coast Classic National Championship Competition in TANGO. 

The competition was conducted by DanceSport Australia at Sydney Town Hall. The competition ran from 8am to midnight and attracted hundreds of competitors and thousands of spectators.

Maroubra Seals Dance Club is very proud of Carrie's achievement. We thank Carrie for bringing such a great honour to our dance club. Carrie's partner in the competition was Lex Metcalf. A big thank to you also, Lex.

Carrie received 99% in WALTZ, 97% in TANGO and 95% in FOXTROT.
