Most sea turtles migrate between foraging and nesting grounds seasonally, which brings them to warmer waters in the winter. Often these migrations take them hundreds and even thousands of miles. With satellite telemetry, scientists can track the movements of sea turtles between areas, even across entire oceans.
Leatherback Sea Turtles are the most migratory sea turtle species, traveling as many as 10,000 miles or more each year, in search of jellyfish. In the Atlantic, they traverse the ocean from Caribbean breaches, up to the US East Coast to Canada. In the Pacific, many go from Southeast Asia, up to the coast of California and then to Alaskan feeding grounds.
Loggerheads born in Japan migrate almost 8,000 miles to the rich feeding waters of Baja California, Mexico to feed and mature. Once they have reached adulthood, they migrate back to Japan to breed and nest. Then the cycle begins all over again!
There isn't any information on other species, sorry!
