Teaching System
"Teaching is not just about imparting knowledge; it's about igniting the flames of curiosity and self-discovery, allowing students to shine in their own unique brilliance."
The Future Integrated Schools have implemented an organized teaching structure, outlining subjects and their respective durations per period per week. This structural framework enhances the school's educational system, ensuring effective allocation, coordination, and supervision of subjects and activities to achieve teaching excellence. This foundation supports standard operating procedures and the seamless execution of daily routines.
In each classroom, a specific class schedule is meticulously crafted to maintain a well-organized and high-quality educational environment. Even as a SEA Teacher Student Exchange participant, I noticed a few differences in class schedules compared to the Philippines. Notably, classes at Future Integrated Schools run on Saturdays, which differs from the Philippine system, where lower-grade levels typically have classes from Monday to Friday. The commonality of starting the week with a flag ceremony on Mondays was a similarity between the two systems.
During my observation, I was intrigued to find that the duration for each subject at Future Integrated Schools is typically 40 minutes. In contrast, in the Philippines, class durations vary by grade level and can extend up to an hour. Additionally, the punctuality observed at Future Integrated Schools, with classes ending promptly when the alarm sounds, differs from the Philippines, where teachers sometimes allow students to stay a bit longer.
Materials and Other Learning Sources
My time as an intern at Future Integrated School has given me a unique glimpse into the rich tapestry of learning resources available to students. Here, education is not limited to textbooks and traditional methods; it's a holistic experience that integrates a variety of materials and sources.
One striking feature is the use of distinct textbooks for students and teachers, all in the Vietnamese language. This approach ensures that both educators and students are on the same page, quite literally. The school also harnesses modern teaching technologies, including projectors and televisions, which greatly aid teachers in delivering engaging lessons.
Stepping into the classroom as an art teacher, I discovered the school's commitment to providing well-prepared materials for students. The magnetic boards in the classrooms caught my attention. These versatile boards can function as both traditional blackboards and whiteboards, with adjustable height options. This design facilitates interactive and dynamic teaching, making learning a more engaging experience for both teachers and students.
Beyond the classroom, the school offers a treasure trove of additional learning resources. The library houses an extensive collection of books and materials, encouraging students to explore the world through literature. The presence of a clinic on the premises ensures that students' well-being is a top priority. And the playground, a vibrant space for physical and social development, complements the academic experience.
Future Integrated School creates an environment where students can thrive academically and personally. The diverse range of learning resources and materials, along with the focus on well-rounded education, fosters an atmosphere of curiosity and growth. It's a place where education knows no bounds.
Measurement and Evaluation
The Future Integrated School approach to student evaluation is a holistic, student centered system that prioritizes individual growth. critical thinking, and practical like skills. It aims to create a supportive and engaging educational environment that enables students to reach their full potential.
My experience during my internship in Vietnam has given me a unique perspective on the importance of evaluation in the education system. It's not just a measure of performance but a tool for fosterning personal growth and success. This approach reflects a commitment to nurturing well-rounded, capable and empowered individuals, making it a model worth considering for education systems worldwide.
