This challenge is that most Indonesians cannot communicate in English. But my buddy was a true lifesaver. My buddies, Annisa, Anya, Rasee, Kim , Fit and Aura were always ready to help us. For instance, when I needed to clean my room, Annisa kindly lent me her broom. She also took me to the nearby Indomaret (Indonesian minimart) to purchase a gallon of water. Their willingness to assist us and bridge the communication gap was invaluable. I want to extend my deepest gratitude to my buddies, my dearest Indonesian friends who consistently took the time to care for me and my fellow NRRU friends who joined me on this journey. Without you guys, our lives here would have been much more challenging. Terima kasih (Thank you)!
This journey in Indonesia brought me experiences I had never had before. It was here that I discovered new friendships that enriched my life in many ways. My buddies and I shared moments that I had never imagined, such as playing bowling together and going to the theater with a group of friends. These were moments of joy and companionship that made my time in Indonesia truly unforgettable. I'm deeply grateful for the friendships and experiences I gained during this incredible journey. Cultural and language differences can sometimes pose challenges, but with the support of individuals like my buddy, I can overcome these obstacles and make the most of my time abroad. I very much appreciate their assistance and care, and It is a testament to the power of collaboration and connection in the teaching profession. I’ll keep cherishing these valuable relationships in my heart.
Stepping out of my comfort zone is a brave and transformative experience. It is clear that this project has pushed me to grow as a teacher and as an individual. Embracing new challenges and opportunities, especially in a foreign teaching environment, can lead to personal and professional development.
Continuing to explore and learn outside my comfort zone can be incredibly rewarding. It opens doors to new experiences, broadens your horizons, and allows me to become a more adaptable and resilient educator. Keep up the great work and embrace the journey of self-discovery and growth that comes with stepping out of your comfort zone. Your dedication and willingness to face these challenges are truly commendable.
Even though this journey has come to an end, I want to thank Sea Teacher project once again for allowing me to explore the wide world, meet new people, learn about Indonesian culture, and study the Indonesian language. It has led me to precious friendships and unforgettable memories.
Thank you to all of you who have come to read my blog. I wish you all a great day.
