Virtual Block and Bridle Contests
The contests will be completed via Canvas and Judgingcard.com - Canvas will house the contest materials utilizing quizzes in a "lockdown browser".
E-scan sheets will be provided from judgingcard.com
Contestants will have to complete the contest as a group - proctored by a Teacher, Club Leader, or Extension Agent
There will be three days assigned to each contest - groups must complete the full event within that time frame, but will have the opportunity to split up the contest (ex. Stations on Day 1 and Slides on Day 2) to facilitate school schedules and needs of your group.
Each Unit or Chapter will only gain access to materials once (i.e. Happy Hooves 4-H with 4 senior teams will only have access to the Senior Exam one time - so all youth must attend the proctored exam session to compete)
Each section will be timed in accordance with the Hippology Contest Rules
Once test proctoring is completed and youth have filled out their scan sheets - answers will be inputted into judgingcard.com for scoring by contestants.
More details about protocol for each contest will be sent prior to the start of the events.
Virtual Hippology - February 26th - February 28th at 11:59 PM
Virtual Horse Judging - March 5th - March 7th at 11:59 PM
Updated Contest Cost - $10.00/contestant/contest
Payments will be managed virtually through a Block and Bridle Square Site
You will receive an updated invoice and payment link once team verification for the new events is completed
The contests are only open to pre-registered teams and youth. As team numbers are already assigned and enrollments verified - we will move forward in this manner to allow for an easier contest transition.
We will roll out the Virtual Hippology event first - as those materials are easier to get online. Each coach of a registered Hippology Team will receive an email from me today with the number of registered contestants and their team numbers. Your email will include the link to a google form allowing you to indicate your team(s)' plans to participate and provide you the opportunity to assign youth to teams.
Live Contest Opportunity - The Blue Ridge Classic Horse Judging Contest will host a live horse judging contest in Waynesboro, Virginia on March 28th! See attached contest information and contact Jacob Lewis at lewis.jp@augusta.k12.va.us for more information!
