We are currently accepting anyone interested in joining any of our 2025-2026 Committee's. NOTE: You must be an approved 4-H Leader or Volunteer.

The emphasis of the 4-H horse and pony program is equine selection, nutrition, management, riding, recreation, fun, and horsemanship. Horseback riding provides an outdoor sports fitness program for physical, personal, and emotional development, including confidence building. The sport can develop into a life-long hobby or business. Projects are available for youth owning or having access to horses and to youth not having access to horses (horseless horse projects).

2026 SED Qualifying Clinic's & Show's
2026 Southeast 4-H FINALIZED Qualifying Shows and Show Series
Your SED $10 Qualifying Fee should be mailed by check to the Southeast District Treasurer @ PO Box 175, Victoria VA 23974 within 7 days of qualifying event completion. ( Do Not Wait for an invoice or reminder please) Make Payable to: SED4-H HLA LLC
$10 Qualifying Fee is only due to SED if you qualify at a District approved qualifying event, or Approved Outside Qualifying Event. If you choose to qualify at another Districts qualifying event you would not owe fees the the SED, you would then be responsible for paying that Districts set qualifying fee directly to them under their guidelines. You may at any time reach out to any SED Officer for further clarification if needed.
** Qualifying is recognized as the act of taking the project animal into the ring under the eye of the judge for at least one class during the horse show and completing the class successfully in the opinion of the judge.

The Virginia 4HOnline Horse Declaration Portal for the State 4-H Horse Show is now open!
Exhibitors must declare any animals they plan to show or MAY show at the State 4-H Horse Show in 4HOnline by July 1. This includes back up animals.
