The emphasis of the 4-H horse and pony program is equine selection, nutrition, management, riding, recreation, fun, and horsemanship. Horseback riding provides an outdoor sports fitness program for physical, personal, and emotional development, including confidence building. The sport can develop into a life-long hobby or business. Projects are available for youth owning or having access to horses and to youth not having access to horses (horseless horse projects).

2026 SED Qualifying Clinic's & Show's
If you intend to show at any qualifying show please be sure to submit your information through our web page link below if you have not already done so. In addition to submitting your intent to show you must also register with that specific shows through their sign up.
This allows us to help the show producer and secretary know how many 4-Her's plan to attend, so they know to look for your Qualifying Entry and Registration at their sign in desk and allows us to know to look for it in return from the Show Secretary within the required time frame given so that it can be submitted to states in a timely manner.
**It is your responsibility to give the show secretary your information to be input in the states Qualifying form the day of the Show usually at the sign in desk!**

2026 Southeast 4-H FINALIZED Qualifying Shows and Show Series
Your SED $10 Qualifying Fee should be mailed by check to the Southeast District Treasurer within 7 days of qualifying event completion. (do not waite for an invoice or reminder please)
** Qualifying is recognized as the act of taking the project animal into the ring under the eye of the judge for at least one class during the horse show and completing the class successfully in the opinion of the judge.

Note: Please be aware the "committee" opted to only accept registration by mail. There is no Online Registration for this event at the decision of the "Clinic Committee". Be sure to download and Print for complete instructions.
