When: Face-to-face on Sept. 25, 2019 and then the rest of the clock hours was completed independently online through October 25. Boot Camp was saddled with the annual SDLA (South Dakota Library Association) conference; however, it was NOT an official part of the conference and conference attendance was not required to attend Boot Camp.
Where: Spearfish, SD at the Holiday Inn and Convention Center
What: Boot Camp is a two-credit Black Hills State University course that can be taken at either the undergraduate or graduate level. This course can be applied to the Library Methods requirement of the BHSU School Library Media minor and the SD DOE Library Media endorsement. College credit/tuition costs are covered via a scholarship through the SD State Library. Travel costs are covered by participants.

This year's presenter was Jennifer LaGarde aka The Library Girl. Jennifer is a lifelong teacher and learner with over 20 years in public education. Her educational passions include leveraging technology to help students develop authentic reading lives, meeting the unique needs of students living in poverty and helping learners (of all ages) discern fact from fiction in the information they consume.
