After a year that practically did not exist, we finally got the chance to soak in the summer sun and enjoy sleeping in without worrying about missing zoom classes. But, unlike many summers, this summer marks my last one in highschool. Like me and some of the other committee members, many of us are entering our senior year of highschool. While it feels like our childhood has flashed before our lives, a lot of us have been swamped with anxiety while thinking about colleges and college applications. We have been so worried about our future that we forgot to enjoy our present. Many, like me, completely packed their whole summer with extracurricular activities but one important thing we forgot was to take some time to relax before the school year starts. We need to remember that the only way we can make the best of our senior year is by fueling our energy right now. We need to take some time everyday to feed our hobbies, whether it be binging a tv show or painting. By taking the time to build ourselves up, we will grow to become better people and have the strength to support our highschool peers/friends.Â
