JNHS

JNHS, also known as Japanese National Honors Society, is a club dedicated to spreading Japanese culture around SDA campus, as well as the Encinitas community.

As a club, we also promote a friendly environment and encourage connections between our members.

Lastly, our club is a nationally recognized organization, meaning active participation provides a nice addition to college applications.

The club hosts a multitude of events that all aim to expand the presence of Japanese culture throughout the community. These include but are not limited to:

• Movie Nights where we enjoy Japanese snacks while watching Japanese movies;
• Beach Clean-ups where we keep the town of Encinitas clean (SDA JNHS has also adopted Moonlight Beach!);
• Botanical Garden volunteer where we help the garden staffs beautify various sections of the San Diego Botanical Garden;
• Culture lessons where we teach elementary school students about various aspects of Japanese culture on late start Wednesdays and after school;
• And other volunteering at Japanese temples during important holidays.
