“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.” (Titus 2:13)
Jesus gave the urgent call, “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” (Matthew 24:42) If Jesus came today, would you be ready, waiting, and watching for Him? Do you long to be forever with the One who loves you more than you can imagine? Are you ready for Jesus to come?
You’ve grown up in a world of “Star Wars” and TV invasions from outer space. How can you be sure that the dazzling being appearing in the sky is not fiction or, as the Bible says, another of Satan’s deceptions? Can you really believe Christ’s wonderful promise in John 14:1-3?
When Jesus returns, how will you know it is really Jesus? Does the Bible give you enough information so you can be sure? Who will He take with Him? He would love to take all His created family back to heaven with Him. But if He did, it wouldn’t be heaven. It would be ugly and sinful—filled with people who hate, hurt, destroy, and kill—just as on our earth now.
Jesus told us how to stay prepared. (Hebrews 10:23).

At the time of Christ’s second coming all the world will be praying. I must now choose which prayer I will pray then.
“And [they] said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come; and who shall be able to stand? (Revelation 6:16, 17)
“And it shall be said in that day, behold, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us. This is the Lord; we have waited for Him; we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.” (Isaiah 25:9)
When Jesus comes, what words will He say to me?
“And then I will declare to them, I never knew you: depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.” (Matthew 7:23)
“Then the King will say. . . Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world” (Matthew 25:34).
Have you ever wondered why Jesus delays His coming?
A silversmith melted the ore to 1,761 degrees Fahrenheit. Gradually, the impurities in the ore rose to the surface, and he skimmed them off. Over and over, he carefully worked with the molten mass. When he could see his face reflected with perfect clarity, he knew there was only pure silver left.
Jesus is now doing the same thing with you. “Christ is sitting for His portrait in every disciple” (The Desire of Ages, p. 827). Yes, dear friend, “when the character of Christ shall be perfectly reproduced in His people, then He will come to claim them as His own” (Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 69).

Dear Father,
Please remove from my life anything that mars, blurs, or spoils the reflection of Jesus. Fill me with Your love, holiness and meekness, so that I may perfectly reflect You. Come quickly, Lord Jesus!
Amen.
