The quarterly Central Committee meeting was held in-person at American Legion Servicemen’s Club in Virginia, and remotely via zoom on 8/14/25. There were 12 participants.
Decisions were:
Confirmed 2026 convention at Floodwood Services & Training Center
Elected Tom Whiteside and Karen Arcel as State Central Committee alternates.
Adopted bylaw defining how to compute a meeting quorum.

The quarterly Central Committee meeting was held in-person at AFSCME Council 65 in Nashwauk, and remotely via zoom on 5/8/25. There were 14 participants. The committee decided to not to have a stand-alone constitution but to rely on the DFL Constitution; also to split 50/50 the PO box expense with St. Louis 07. Multiple activists event, past and future were discussed.

The fourth quarterly Central Committee meeting was held in-person at Palisade Community Center, and remotely via zoom on 2/13/25. There were 27 participants. Strides were made in outreach; the location for March 2026 Convention will be decided at the next meeting. The group was addressed by Joel Heller of the DFL Executive Committee, and Richard Carlbom, candidate for state DFL Chair.

The third quarterly Central Committee meeting was held in-person at the DFL Hibbing Office, and remotely via zoom.
Highlights are:
Established Candidate Recruitment Committee; S. Lowen Chair.
Established Fundraising Committee; J. Newstrom Chair.
Elected Lueva Karachalios as a board director.

The second quarterly Central Committee meeting was held in-person at the Locker Room in Coleraine, and remotely via zoom.
Highlights are:
17 members attended and two guests.
Karen Arcel and Brian Capanoli were approved as Directors.
Shanai (vice chair) was appointed Outreach Assistant.
Approved paying 1/2 the expenses for the past annual convention held in conjunction with St. Louis 7; approved contributing $250 toward a memorial brick at the DFL headquarters plaza for Senator David Tomassoni and Representative Tom Rukavina; authorized spending up to $500 on Harris signs if a charge is required; directed $300 contributions to our 7A and 7B candidates.

Treasurer Nathaniel Dropp diligently organized his accounting from the previous year and presented his efforts to the Audit Board. The board did not find any discrepancies and praised Nathaniel's work.

The chair and secretary met in Virginia at the VFW's Servicemen's Club on Saturday morning, with Central Committee members that resided in House District 7B. Lorrie Janatopoulos was endorsed unanimously.

Senate District 7's first e-newsletter was sent out. The intention is to create a first-of-the-month issue with news and events. The purpose is to connect activists throughout the district and strengthen our impact.

The first Central Committee meeting after the Annual Convention was held in-person at the Hibbing DFL office and remotely via zoom. Highlights are
Newstrom was elected secretary and appointed communication director.
Regional liaisons were established to put together teams for campaigning and to identify marketing locations in each area; Maleska/West St. Louis, Matteson/Aitkin, Newstrom/Itasca.
A PO Box was authorized in Hibbing to be cost-shared with St. Louis 03 DFL organizing unit.
Arranged for a Board of Audit.
Dates for quarter meetings were set (at a minimum) on Aug 8, 2024, Nov 14, 2024, Feb 13, 2025 and May 8, 2025; each on the second Thursday at 6 pm at locations to be determined.
