Can my junior players play senior games?
Yes and as many times as they want. There is no limit to the number of senior games a junior may play during regular season play.
Can junior players play senior play-offs for districts?
Yes BUT they must choose which level they will play as they cannot play both. A junior playing in a senior sanctioned tournament must stay as a senior the rest of the season.
Can junior players play senior provincials?
A Jr athlete is eligible to move up into Sr competition after the completion of all Jr competition. The only exception is that Jr athletes can not compete in both Jr & Sr Individuals, they must only play one.
How do I know if a player is eligible to play?
Check eligibility, especially for international students, with your AD. Students new to your school may be ineligible for a year before they can play.
What are the consequences if a student is found not eligible to play after league games are already being played?
Any school found to have played an ineligible player will forfeit their match. This can have consequences for playoffs and league championships standings. Knowingly playing an ineligible player will result in a report to BCSS and whatever consequences they deem appropriate.
Who do I send league match results to?
Send all results via email in PDF to your coordinator (Chris Cathcart ccathcart@sd43.bc.ca)
When do games start?
Typically games will start at 3:30, but the host school can start later if school schedule runs beyond this time or it is agreed between competing coaches to do so.
When are games played?
Juniors are Thursdays and Seniors are Tuesdays. This can be changed to suit the host if all competing coaches agree or if the schedule is amended at the AGM to play different days than traditionally done. Please let the coordinator know if changes are being made. NOTE: It is not the coordinator's job to make the changes if a problem with host space arises. Host coach must make the changes with the visiting coaches then let the coordinator know.
Any new questions? Send them to your coordinator.
