Make sure that you review the absences listed under your name before signing the absence log in the office. You want to make sure that the number of absences, the amount of time for each day, and designation of each absence is correct.
Confirm that the number of days appearing on your last pay statement in June under each category is the same as what appears on your first pay statement in September. Keep in mind the number will increase by 10 at the start of each school year, but not to exceed the maximum accumulation allowance as per your contract.
Note: The number of days may increase at the start of the year by an additional number of days (beyond the 10 at the start of each school year) depending on your age, years of service and if you are a teacher or teaching assistant. Information regarding these specific circumstances is located in your contract.
Unused family days are lost at the end of the year.
Unused personal days are added to you total number of accumulated sick days at the end of each year, provided the maximum accumulation is not exceeded.
