The seniority list is comprised of individuals' accrued service time within each tenure area. Service time is broken down in terms of years, months, and days, and is listed from greatest to least time accrued.
If multiple individuals in the same tenure area are hired / appointed by the Board of Education on the same date, with the same amount of prior service time, those individuals will appear on the seniority list based on the order their names appear in the Board of Education meeting minutes for their appointment date.
NOTE: Individuals hired / appointed on the same date and with the same amount of prior service time are listed on the Board of Education agenda in alphabetical order.
It is very important to review the seniority list each year to confirm your information and position on the list is accurate.
A copy of the seniority list should always be available to view in the staff room. An updated version of the list is available each year on February 1st in the staff room.
Always make a copy of your seniority list information and keep a copy for your records. Keep a copy for each year. If you do not want to keep physical copies for every year, take a picture or scan it, and then store the copies digitally.
If you believe there is an error with your information on the seniority list, you can complete the Seniority Discrepancy Sheet and return it to the human resource department at the district office. This form should be available in the staff room with / near the seniority list or it can be downloaded or printed from the files below.
