The Rotary Foundation, and how your gift will be put to work...

It’s the structure that makes Rotary’s incredible success and longevity possible. Rotary Clubs are “local” groups of community and business leaders whose sole purpose is to help out in their own communities AND be genuine participants in a global network that works tirelessly to meet challenges throughout the world.  

Clubs are small enough that everyone matters (and everyone has a great time working on projects together!), and the network is far-reaching  enough to affect the most important and urgent issues of our time.

Here are our broad areas of focus:

Education and Literacy

Peace and conflict resolution

Disease treatment and prevention

Maternal and child well-being

Water and sanitation advancement

Economic and community development

Environmental awareness and policy advocacy

The Rotary Foundation’s global outreach is astonishing. The fact that we have 35,000 clubs in over 200 countries means that projects are initiated at their source by clubs on the ground. In other words, clubs in areas of need work together with their local communities and community leaders, and then they partner up with other clubs and NGOs in Rotary’s vast network to provide exactly what help is needed.  1.4 million kind and animated people acting voluntarily, with no agenda other than to help out where needed . . . Rotary quite literally provides a template for all non-profits and NGOs (not to mention governmental organizations!)

The importance of supporting a structure that functions globally couldn’t be more apparent than in our current circumstances as we face the pandemic, climate change and world-wide issues of social justice.

So if you’re looking for a place to make a donation that will truly make a difference to our world, we can think of no better place than our Rotary Foundation.

As we noted earlier, the association of fundraising professionals deemed the Rotary Foundation to be at the top of the heap! Charity Navigator gives it a four-star rating and an astonishing all-around score of 99.4 out of 100. The financial component of that rating was an awesome 99.16% and for ‘Culture and Community’,’ Accountability and Transparency’ and ‘Leadership and Adaptability’ Charity Navigator rated the foundation 100/100. And on top of all that the Rotary Foundation gives 91% of all its proceeds to the end-recipient. That is just unheard-of for a huge foundation.
