About the Sessions
What are the script reading & feedback sessions?
The Beginner-friendly Script Live Reading Sessions are a volunteer-run event taking place in the IGDA Game Writing SIG's Discord server. During the sessions we gather, read samples that participants have brought, and give gentle professional feedback to each other.
Started as a community initiative by Stef, spurred on by Chride, and now co-hosted with Miranda, we aim to keep the sessions way more informal than the existence of this website might give the impression of.
We whole-heartedly invite you to join! The sessions are free and open to anyone; from aspiring game writers and narrative designers to hardened veterans. It's also an opportunity for job seekers and students to receive feedback from peers, as well as from working game writers and narrative designers. You can also join to supply voice acting!
If you need an invite to the IGDA Game Writing SIG Discord server, you can contact Chride through email at classheikki [at] gmail [dot] com.
Hello hello! I’m Miranda (they/them) and my professional focus is on game writing and narrative design, though I also write short fiction, novels, and webcomics. I’ve got a graduate degree in English and Creative Writing from Concordia University, and during my studies I worked as a sound designer and audio engineer on multiple projects. I’m also a freelance graphic designer, and enjoy digital and traditional art on the side (or in service of my personal projects). I currently work at Eidos-Montréal.
Heya! I’m Christina “Chride” Lassheikki, narrative designer and writer for games. Currently I work as a Game & Narrative Designer on the Business Development team at Nitro Games in Helsinki, Finland, and I’m a recent grad from MA New Media – Game Design and Production at the Media Lab of Aalto University. I volunteer my free time to both the Game Writing SIG and the Finnish Game Jam Association. I've worked professionally with games since 2017; transitioning slowly from art to narrative, and from academia to the industry.
My background is in teaching art, animation, and film making. I got started making games through making graphics at game jams, and then got recruited into designing games for research.

Hi! I'm Stef Jolin, Canadian game writer and occasional narrative designer in the AAA game industry. I graduated from Concordia University in 2014 with a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing, then held administrative positions in a variety of industries from finance to recruitment before finally joining the wonderful world of game development at Eidos Montreal in 2017.
I have been working as a full time writer ever since, and I am eager to share my knowledge with everyone. Well, at least the part not under NDA. ;)
